Nothing much to report at the moment, but... Forum Update

The big thing is that there is a new version of the phpBB forum and it's being ported to PHP-Nuke.

I'm in the process of testing this as the port is currently classified as "beta". Some sites are reporting success with it, and it looks like I'll be updating the forum code sometime this week.

This update will fix some minor things, add to the features a bit, but not be anything really drastic. Once I've tested it, the upgrade will take no more than about 5 minutes or so, and I'll do it late-night so there should be no significant downtime to report. And if there is, it'll only affect private messages and the forum, nothing else. Surveys

Got mjölk? That survey's been on the site since the PHP-Nuke code took over. Suggestions are being accepted (e-mail them using the Contact Admin link in the menu) for new surveys.

Surveys for the front of the site must be of a nature that wouldn't make them "ES Forum candidates". In other words, nothing of a highly sensitive nature. These are for fun, not for starting word wars.

If you send a suggestion, be sure to include several possible options to select from as answers. Journals and your stories

I have received several e-mails responding to a previous request for people to journal their experiences as they make the move to Sweden. Unfortunately while I did get and read the mails, when I went to start responding to them I found I'd deleted the folder I'd put them in.

Doh!

Anyone who has been journaling their experiences as they make the move, please e-mail me again so I can set up a feature for these on the site. Content wanted!

This is more of a personal note. I know I've been incredibly hard to contact lately. Just reading e-mail hasn't been easy lately. I've been on what feels like a long non-stop anxiety attack for almost two weeks now, and being able to focus enough to do anything only happens sporadically.

I'm trying to dig through e-mails now (there's a lot) and get to the ones that specifically need my response to. If you contacted me about something like your avatar doesn't work or whatever, I'll be trashing it. Please post such questions in the forum made for such posts (non-members can post there as well). Only problems that result in being unable to post on that forum should be sent directly to me. This will make it easier on me to get to the stuff that actually needs my specific help, as many of the problems sent to me can actually be answered by many regulars here on the forum.

I'm trying to get out of a funk, but it's not easy. And things get delayed that shouldn't be.

If you do have a problem only I can resolve and I haven't responded, please e-mail me again. That way I'll see it faster than digging through the ton of e-mail I need to go through.
